What is the gut microbiome?

Updated: Jan 23, 2021

Your gut microbiome is everything from your mouth to your colon ➡️from entry to exit ➡️and all the pieces and critters in between. 🦠

Did you know the health of the gut microbiome is important for supporting:

  • Digestion, of course!

  • Immune system

  • Sleep

  • Inflammation

  • Feelings of emotional well-being

Ready to start taking care of your gut?

3 Simple ways to support the health of your gut microbiome:

  • Get a full 8 hours 💤- Stress and lack of sleep can damage the microbiome. Focus on mindfulness and meditation before bed to promote relaxation and sleep

  • Move your body 🚴‍♀️- regular varied exercise is beneficial to digestion, mental clarity and can even promote a healthy gut!

  • Add variety to your plate - A restrictive ❌diet or one that lacks variety, fiber and nutrients can damage the gut. Aim to include a variety of plant foods (vegetables and fruit 🥕🥑🍓), high-quality protein, and healthy fat to support a diverse gut microbiome.
